This Boxing Day will be unusual for Premier League fans, featuring just one match instead of the usual lineup.

On Christmas 2025, Manchester United will face Newcastle United, but some key players will be missing.

In a recent press conference, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe revealed the extent of his injury list.

The Magpies are expected to be without up to eight players, although there is some hope that Nick Pope and Sven Botman might return.

Unfortunately, Tino Livramento, Dan Burn, Kieran Trippier, Jamaal Lascelles, Emil Krafth and Will Osula will miss the trip to Old Trafford.

Manchester United is also facing player absences due to injuries and the Africa Cup of Nations.

Noussair Mazraoui, Amad Diallo, and Bryan Mbeumo are all leaving for the tournament, which was anticipated.

However, injuries to Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo were not expected.

Since joining United in 2020, Fernandes has missed only three games, but now he will be sidelined for a month, missing more matches than in the previous five years combined.

Mainoo hasn’t had much playing time but now misses his chance to make an impact with Fernandes out.

Fernandes has a soft-tissue injury, likely to his hamstring, while Mainoo is dealing with a calf problem.

They join Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt in the treatment room, leaving United without seven key players.

On a positive note, Casemiro is set to return after serving a suspension and will be available for the Aston Villa match.
