The 2026 World Cup has slowly confirmed the seven teams that will compete in the biggest football tournament. Most recently, Argentina and Iran have won tickets to qualify for the World Cup in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
Argentina secured their place in the 2026 World Cup after Bolivia drew with Uruguay. Bolivia’s draw means La Albiceleste can no longer finish below sixth in the final standings of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Conmebol zone.
Argentina currently have 28 points from 13 games. Bolivia, who are in seventh place, have just 14 points from 14 games. With just four games left, Bolivia cannot catch Argentina, and Lionel Scaloni’s side are guaranteed to finish in the top six.
Elsewhere, the Iranian national team became the sixth country to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday (25/3). The certainty was obtained after Iran drew 2-2 against Uzbekistan in the eighth match of Group A of the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
The draw keeps Iran firmly at the top of Group A with 20 points from eight matches. In the eight matches that have been played, Iran has recorded six wins, two draws, and has never lost.
By collecting 20 points, Iran is enough to ensure direct qualification to the 2026 World Cup finals.
