Elephants can still dream.

The Ivorian football team made headlines this Friday during the ninth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. They achieved a remarkable victory against their opponents.

Ivory Coast triumphed over Seychelles with a score of 7-0. The team showed strong determination from the beginning, starting the scoring with a penalty converted by Ibrahim Sangaré in the 7th minute. The goals continued to come, with Agbadou netting one in the 17th minute, Oumar Diakité scoring in the 32nd minute, and Evann Guessand adding another in the 39th minute, giving the team a dominant 4-0 lead at halftime.

However, despite this impressive win, Ivory Coast’s path to the 2026 World Cup remains uncertain. The competition for a qualifying spot is expected to be intense, and the outcome will hinge on their next match.
