According to information from BBC Sports, a 29-year-old international football player was arrested early Saturday morning in London’s West End, suspected of two counts of assault and one count of affray. The incident, reported at 7:17 AM IST, led the police to apprehend the player at the scene, while the alleged victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The player has been released on bail pending further investigation. In line with UK regulations strengthened after the 2012 Leveson Inquiry, his identity has not been disclosed, as law enforcement typically does not name suspects unless under exceptional circumstances or after a charge has been made.
