Kannur: Mithun V will be the goalkeeper for Kannur Warriers in the 2024-25 season. Mithun, who played as the first-choice goalkeeper for Malappuram FC in the Super League Kerala last season, is an experienced goalkeeper from Kerala.
He was the goalkeeper for the Kerala team that won the Santosh Trophy in Kolkata in 2018 and Malappuram in 2022.
In the 2018 Santosh Trophy final, Mithun played a crucial role for Kerala, saving two penalties in the penalty shootout against West Bengal. He was named the best player of the 2018 Santosh Trophy.
Mithun was also a member of the Kerala team that won a silver medal at the National Games in Gujarat in 2022. He was recognized as the best goalkeeper in the first season of the Kerala Premier League. The player from Kannur, who has also served as the former captain and vice-captain of Kerala, has played for Kerala United, Muthoot FA, Kickstart FC, and SBI Kerala.
