Borussia Dortmund announced on Friday that they have signed Portugal striker Fabio Silva from Wolves, marking their fifth acquisition from the Premier League this summer.

Silva is joining for a reported fee of 22.5 million euros ($26.3 million), plus bonuses, with a contract lasting until 2030.

The 23-year-old has not played for Wolves this season due to a hamstring injury.

“I know Dortmund as a passionate club with incredible fans. Being part of it fills me with pride and anticipation,” Silva expressed in a statement.

Dortmund has been active in the transfer market after clinching the last Champions League spot on the final day of the previous season.

They secured Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland, along with Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino from Chelsea, while wing-back Yan Couto’s loan was made permanent.

Silva originally joined Wolves from Porto in 2020 for a club record fee of 40 million euros at just 18 years old.

Thrown into action earlier than planned due to an injury to Raul Jimenez, Silva found it tough to adjust, netting only five goals in 72 appearances.

He has also had loan spells at Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven.
