Former Chelsea players Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic helped AC Milan secure a 2-0 victory over Lecce in Serie A on Friday, marking their first win of the season.

Milan saw two goals disallowed after video reviews but finally got on the scoreboard midway through the second half. Loftus-Cheek scored with a well-placed header from a free kick.

Pulisic added the second goal just four minutes before the final whistle, finishing calmly as the goalkeeper approached.

This win was particularly important for Milan, who had suffered a surprising loss to newly promoted Cremonese in their first match.

Lecce has earned just one point from their first two games.

Earlier, Cremonese made headlines by becoming the first newly promoted team since Sampdoria in 2012 to win its first two matches following a tough 3-2 victory against Sassuolo at home.

There were reports that Cremonese was close to signing 38-year-old Jamie Vardy, but the team showed they could score without additional help in the first half.

Filippo Terracciano opened the scoring with a header in the 37th minute, followed by veteran Franco Vázquez, who made it 2-0 just two minutes later.

Andrea Pinamonti pulled one back for Sassuolo 19 minutes into the second half, and Domenico Berardi equalized with a penalty nine minutes later.

However, substitute Manuel De Luca scored a decisive penalty in the 93rd minute for Cremonese, securing their second win and placing them at the top of the table after beating AC Milan the previous week.

Sassuolo remains without any points after two matches.
