Esteban Andrada has officially left Monterrey and will play on loan at Real Zaragoza in Spain for the 2025-2026 season. This move follows a summer filled with injuries and limited playing time for the Argentine goalkeeper, known as “La Sabandija.” He joins Zaragoza in the Spanish second division, aiming to restart his career and help the struggling team.

Monterrey announced the loan on its website, revealing that there is a mandatory purchase option if Zaragoza gets promoted. If that occurs, Monterrey would receive about 1.5 million euros. This decision comes after failed transfer attempts to clubs in Argentina, Brazil, or Saudi Arabia.

Zaragoza is currently positioned 19th out of 22 teams in La Liga Hypermotion, having earned just one point from three matches. The team is counting on Andrada’s experience to strengthen its defense. He has played 161 matches for Monterrey, achieving 58 clean sheets and winning the 2021 Concacaf Champions League.

For the 34-year-old, this marks a new chapter after four years with Monterrey, where he faced mixed reviews. With a fresh start in Spain, Andrada hopes to showcase his skills in a league where Zaragoza needs effective solutions to improve its standings.
