Liverpool player Mohamed Salah shared in an interview with Men In Blazers that he struggled with his emotions after the team’s opening match of the season against Bournemouth. Fans at Anfield sang to honor Diogo Jota.

This game was Liverpool’s first official home match since the incident involving the Portuguese player, and the crowd showed their support by paying tribute.

“It was quite tricky for me because I didn’t prepare myself for that. Usually I clap for the fans after the game to thank them for coming. But when I stood in front of the Kop, they were singing for Diogo. My emotions came, and I was thinking about him. You have to handle it. Many people in the Kop were also showing their feelings, and then you start to break down a little bit,” Salah said.
