United had a chance to qualify for the Champions League, which would have assured them at least four home games, each generating about £5 million at Old Trafford.
Additionally, the club will face a £10 million loss related to its Adidas deal, due to not qualifying for the Champions League. Management hoped to regain some lost income through a strong run in domestic cups, but the team was knocked out of the League Cup on August 27, losing to Grimsby Town on penalties.
Reminder: Matchday revenue is a crucial part of Manchester United’s overall income. In the 2023/24 season report, the club announced a record turnover of £661.8 million, with matchday earnings totaling £137.1 million.
