Takes a strong stance.

Recent trends in football have seen Super Cup matches played in different countries, and now there’s talk of extending this to league games, as shown in Spain and Italy. However, in Germany, this idea is not being considered.

Details: Hans-Joachim Watzke, the chief of the German Football League, has firmly stated that Bundesliga matches will not be held abroad. He emphasized that under his leadership, this will not change.

Quote: “As long as I am here, responsible for the league, there will not be a single match abroad if we are talking about official competitions. Period. This is not up for interpretation. I think at UEFA, decisions are made by more people. But as far as UEFA is concerned, my opinion is quite clear,” Watzke said, as quoted by Reuters.

Reminder: UEFA president Aleksander ÄŒeferin has shared a similar viewpoint, criticizing the notion of holding league matches outside Europe.
