A plan B is in the works.
Liverpool is looking to extend the contract of defender Ibrahima Konaté, but talks have stalled. Meanwhile, the club is preparing for the possibility of him leaving for free and is actively searching for a replacement.
Details: According to teamTALK, Liverpool has turned its attention to Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer. The 28-year-old Brazilian nearly left Juventus this summer, but the deal did not go through. Nonetheless, Liverpool, along with several other Premier League teams, remains interested in acquiring him.
Arne Slot’s main target for defense is Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi, but reports indicate Liverpool will not pursue him this winter. Bremer’s name continues to be considered seriously.
Reminder: Since joining Juventus in the summer of 2022, Bremer has played 93 matches, helping the team achieve 46 clean sheets—nearly every other game. This translates to a 49.5% rate of matches without conceding. In contrast, Juventus achieved only 21 clean sheets in 63 matches without Bremer, resulting in a 33% rate.
