Aaron Ramsey, the prominent summer addition to Pumas UNAM, believes the difference between Liga MX and Europe’s top leagues is smaller than many think, according to Mediotiempo. The Welsh midfielder, known for his time with Arsenal, Juventus, and Rangers, highlighted the skill level of Mexican teams and players, noting the difficulty of winning titles in Mexico.

“The level here is very high. I’ve seen strong teams and very good players. It’s not easy to come to Mexico and win titles—you have to work hard, and hopefully we can lift the championship this season,” Ramsey stated, emphasizing his goal to help Pumas end a 14-year title drought.

The experienced player also mentioned the warm reception he and his family have received. He reflected on his memorable debut goal in Liga MX during the 2-1 victory over Atlas on Matchday 7 at Estadio Olímpico Universitario, describing the rainy night as “special.” “The fans have been brilliant. We’ve really appreciated their support—it’s been overwhelming at times,” said Ramsey.

Looking forward, the 34-year-old recognized the pressure of the title drought but remains optimistic about the team’s capabilities. “We all know our objectives. We’re in a good position and want to achieve something big together,” he remarked. With his experience and leadership, Ramsey is expected to significantly contribute to Pumas’ aspirations in Mexican football.
