He claims that a competitive edge was obtained.

Recently, the Football Association started investigating financial rule violations by Chelsea in London. Experts suggest that the club may face serious consequences as a result.

Details: Financial analyst Stefan Borson believes Chelsea’s breaches allowed them to acquire players they wouldn’t have been able to sign otherwise. This created a competitive edge that contravenes the rules. If a competitive advantage was gained, then the penalty should also be related to competition.

Quote: “I think there are solid reasons to believe Chelsea gained a competitive edge. It seems they secured players they wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise. These players contributed significantly to the club’s successes and the profits from their transfers.

Based on this, it can be argued that an advantage existed. I haven’t encountered any convincing arguments against this. If a competitive advantage was present, then the penalty should reflect that—leading to a points deduction,” Borson told Football Insider.
