According to Olé, Carlos Palacios reacted angrily after being substituted in Boca’s game against Rosario Central, leading to new issues within the team. The Chilean forward left the field in the 72nd minute, visibly upset, showing frustration and exchanging words with Claudio Úbeda, an assistant to the head coach, Miguel Ángel Russo.

The coach acted quickly. At training, Russo addressed the team and spoke directly to Palacios, emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable. Earlier, he had avoided commenting on the issue in a press conference, saying, “I won’t talk about Palacios,” but sources indicate that his private message was serious: he is losing patience.

Palacios later shared a picture on social media that seemed to express regret, but the accompanying song raised questions: “Don’t bring problems, I already have plenty…” This mixed message led to speculation about whether it was an apology or a subtle complaint.

Palacios has a history that works against him. Under Fernando Gago, he was benched for returning late from Chile after a weekend off. Earlier this year, Russo had also sidelined him for missing practice the day after his birthday.

As Boca prepares for the match against Central Córdoba, Palacios’ place in the lineup is uncertain. His underwhelming performance in Rosario has added to the doubts, with Alan Velasco and Williams Alarcón vying for chances. Russo, who typically prefers a consistent starting team, now faces a critical decision regarding Palacios’ future at Boca.
