Former Khosi Denis Vukubi believes new Kaizer Chiefs forward Khanyisa Mayo is not being utilized effectively.
His comments came after Mayo’s second game with the team, which ended in a 1-1 draw against AmaZulu FC in the Betway Premiership.
Vukubi stated that Mayo performs best near the center of the box, rather than on the wings.
“Mayo is the finisher we’ve been looking for, but it seems he’s not in the right position at Chiefs,” Vukubi told KickOff.

“They need to work on training him properly and position him inside the box. He should be advised to keep his movements close to the box.”
“Just yesterday, I saw him playing on the wing, and I thought, ‘Why is such a skilled player so far from the box?’” he added.
Looking ahead, Amakhosi are set to face Stellenbosch FC in the Carling Knockout round of 16 on Sunday at 15:00 at the DHL Stadium.
