Tension is growing at Real Madrid regarding new head coach Xabi Alonso.
Details: L’Équipe reports that several important players are unhappy with his management style and the distribution of playing time.
After Carlo Ancelotti’s era, known for a strict hierarchy and respect for player status, Alonso’s method of frequent squad rotations has upset some stars. Notably, Vinícius Júnior and Fede Valverde have expressed their concerns.
Vinícius has been benched for two matches—against Oviedo and Marseille—and is not pleased with these decisions. Valverde has openly stated his discomfort with playing right-back, yet Alonso positioned him there during the match against Villarreal.
There are also doubts within the team about the rotation policy and the treatment of younger players. Eighteen-year-old Franco Mastantuono, despite a full pre-season absence, has become a favorite of the coach, receiving more minutes than Brahim Díaz and Rodrygo, which frustrates the more seasoned players.
Reminder: Real Madrid has set a price for Valverde’s potential departure.
