A renowned football figure has expressed his dissatisfaction.

“Why is Villarreal vs Barcelona being played in the USA? What is happening? Is this a joke?

IT’S ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. And it feels like cheating! This represents the complete downfall of La Liga for me.

UEFA NEEDS TO INTERVENE.” Van Basten stated.

The three-time Ballon d’Or winner fears this decision will undermine the rich football traditions established over the years.
