Coach expects his team to collect three points this evening against Golden Arrows
Steve Barker knows that Golden Arrows will be challenging in their Betway Premiership match at Athlone Stadium tonight, but he believes his team is ready for the task.
“This is a new game with new challenges,” Barker stated on his club’s website.
“They have started the season well and have some talented players, so this match won’t be straightforward.”
Arrows have become a strong team under coach Manqoba Mnqithi, who effectively brings out the best in the Durban side.
Currently, the Durban team is in ninth place in the PSL standings with 13 points, while Barker’s team is second from the bottom with six points.
Arrows are aware that Stellies recently arrived in the Mother City after a 0-0 draw against 15 de Agosto de Akonibe in a Caf Confederation Cup qualifying match in Equatorial Guinea.
“It has been a tough start to the season, but I see signs of improvement,” Barker remarked.
“We haven’t conceded many goals lately, but we need to score more, and we are working hard on that.”
“We need to stay positive and aim for a good result against Golden Arrows to help turn things around, and preparations have been going well.”
The match kicks off at 7:30 PM.
