Real Madrid is looking to strengthen its defense.
Cristal Palace’s captain may soon play at the Bernabéu.
Details: Reports from Real Madrid Confidencial suggest that Real Madrid plans to make a formal bid for 25-year-old Marc Guéhi, the captain of Crystal Palace, as early as January.
Guéhi’s contract with Crystal Palace runs until the summer of 2026, meaning he could leave on a free transfer. However, Real Madrid aims to avoid competition from other clubs interested in Guéhi, so they are ready to offer €30 million in January. This move would allow Palace to gain from the transfer instead of losing him for free.
Clubs like Liverpool, Tottenham, and Bayern Munich are also watching Guéhi’s situation closely.
Guéhi joined Crystal Palace from Chelsea in 2021 for €23.5 million. He has played 168 matches for Palace, scoring 9 goals and providing 6 assists, becoming a key player for the team.
As per Transfermarkt, Guéhi’s current market value is around €50 million.
