Former Orlando Pirates coach Roger De Sa sees Kaizer Chiefs’ progress in the CAF Confederation Cup as a positive sign for local football.
The Glamour Boys are one game away from reaching the tournament’s group stages for the first time in 12 years. After defeating Angola’s Kabuscorp 1-0 on aggregate in the first round, Amakhosi secured a goalless draw against AS Simba in the Democratic Republic of Congo last weekend.
“It’s encouraging to see Chiefs becoming more competitive,” De Sa told TheSouthAfrican’s Siseko Gwegwe.

“A strong Kaizer Chiefs is essential for South African football.
“It raises the overall standard and adds more competition. It’s great to see,” De Sa added.
