A journalist pointed out to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro that the US government, under Donald Trump, had once offered $50 million for his capture, labeling him a terrorist.
Maduro responded:
“I’m worth more than Bin Laden was back in the day… How can I be valued more than a player like Darwin Núñez?!” he said.
The Venezuelan president added with humor:
“Imagine if I’m rated higher than Lionel Messi… That would be unfair!”
For the record: Lionel Messi will remain in Miami; discussions about a new contract are nearing completion.
