Ángel Di María is already looking beyond his final season with Rosario Central. In an interview with SportsCenter, the former PSG player shared that he is pursuing his coaching qualifications and has even found his ideal assistant: Leandro Paredes. “Our teams will play in a 4-3-3 formation, as always. Leandro and I have already discussed this; he told me the same thing. So, there’s no problem,” said the 2022 World Cup Champion, clearly confident that his former teammate from PSG and the Argentine national team shares his vision for the game.
The two Argentinians, both of whom have chosen to finish their careers at their original clubs—Boca Juniors for Paredes—are already envisioning a future showdown on the sidelines. Di María confirmed: “After we retire, we want to coach Rosario Central and Boca Juniors.” This represents a sort of pact between two friends who are as close off the field as they are on it, now dreaming of competing tactically in one of Argentina’s most heated rivalries.
