Since taking over as the Italian national team coach from 2023 to June 2025, Luciano Spalletti has now joined Juventus. However, he faced questions regarding the national team. When asked about the upcoming playoffs involving Gennaro Gattuso and his players, Spalletti chose not to engage in controversy and expressed his full support for the Azzurri.

“I’ve put myself in difficult situations before, and it’s pointless to dwell on them now. We’re in the running for a decisive match, and we know Norway is as strong as we are. Italy is a strong national team and deserves support, as does its coach. Any other talk can be disruptive. We must support the national team, and I have great respect for Gattuso.
