A joyful moment for Saint-Cyr Collonges during the draw for the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France. The club will face Olympique Lyonnais, a remarkable event for this Régionale 1 team, especially since both teams are from the same region. Already qualified after winning on penalties against Rhône Vallée, Saint-Cyr anticipated the possibility of drawing a professional club and decided to reverse the match. Initial contact has been made with OL, and the club now dreams of playing at Groupama Stadium.

Emotion overwhelmed players and staff as soon as the draw was announced. Coach Clément Guillot shared with Progrès, “We are all OL supporters. It’s amazing. Just as we settled in, they drew OL and then Saint-Cyr/Collonges! (…) Playing against OL will be historic and memorable. We know we won’t play at home, but we will discuss with Olympique Lyonnais how to proceed, and of course, we’d love to play at Groupama.”

Player Djibril Tahraoui echoed similar feelings: “We couldn’t have dreamed of a better matchup. OL, the club from the city where we were born… we all have stars in our eyes. It’s a step into the professional world, and our wish now is to play at Groupama.”
