Liverpool was held to a 1-1 draw by Sunderland in the Premier League, causing them to lose points at their home stadium, Anfield. The first half of the match remained goalless even though Liverpool maintained pressure on their opponents. In the second half, Mohamed Salah came on as a substitute for Cody Gakpo, but the situation did not change immediately.

Sunderland took the lead in the 67th minute of the match when Chamseddine Talbi scored a goal with an assist from Enzo Le Fée. This goal put the home team on the back foot. Liverpool’s efforts to score an equalizer were successful in the 81st minute. A shot from Florian Wirtz deflected off Sunderland defender Nordi Mukiele and found its way into the net, leveling the score.
