Fiorentina is struggling this season. After finishing 6th in Serie A last year, the Florence-based club now finds itself at the bottom of the Italian league. Worse still, Moïse Kean and his teammates have yet to secure a single victory this season. Their defeat to Sassuolo on Saturday (3-1) marks 14 consecutive games without a win in Serie A.

Serie A Overall Standings

Mandragora gave Fiorentina an early lead with a penalty (9′, 0-1), but doubts quickly crept back in. David de Gea showed he is no longer in top form after conceding a goal from Volpato’s simple strike (14′, 1-1). The promising Bosnian player, Tarik Muharemovic, switched from provider to scorer by heading in a corner from Laurienté, exploiting a weak defense (45+1′, 2-1). The game proved more challenging for Fiorentina than for Sassuolo, but things took a turn when Fabio Grosso was surprisingly sent off after a disallowed goal for Volpato due to a foul. Thankfully, this did not affect the outcome, as the skillful Volpato set up Ismaël Koné for the final blow (65′, 3-1). Sassuolo sits in 8th place, while the alarm bells are ringing in Florence as Fiorentina remains at the bottom of the table.
