Antoine Arnault Confirms N’Golo Kanté’s Arrival

Recently, we revealed that Paris FC aimed to sign N’Golo Kanté. The World Cup-winning midfielder has yet to extend his contract with Al-Ittihad, and the French club was keen to strengthen their squad with an experienced player. However, it seems Kanté will not return to France. Paris FC president Antoine Arnault confirmed that the 2018 World Cup champion was indeed on their radar and was close to joining the team in the capital.

“It was really close. It was just a matter of a few details this summer. I was disappointed that he didn’t come. I believe he also wanted to join, but his club wouldn’t let him go. We respect that. It’s unfortunate because having N’Golo in this team would have brought an extra dynamic and could have netted us an additional five points in the standings. But that’s no longer on the table,” he said in an interview with L’Équipe.
