Joseph Oughourlian, the owner of RC Lens, is set to part ways with the Italian club Padova in Serie B, where he held a majority stake through his Luxembourg-based firm, J4A Holdings II SARL, according to L’Equipe. He initially joined as a minority shareholder in late 2017 and took control of the club in 2019 when it was struggling financially in Serie C. His leadership contributed to the club’s rise to Serie B last season.

However, despite this sporting success, Padova remains unprofitable, and Oughourlian has faced challenges in developing the club, particularly with local authorities and limited fan support. Marcelo Figoli is expected to take over. Oughourlian will retain his majority stake in Lens, as well as stakes in Millonarios in Colombia and 5% of Real Zaragoza in Spain.
