Jérôme Rothen Doubts Karim Benzema’s Comeback to the National Team

On Thursday, Karim Benzema shared in a lengthy interview with L’Équipe that he is ready to return to the French national team for the upcoming World Cup. However, Jérôme Rothen is skeptical. The former international player is convinced that Didier Deschamps will not reinstate Benzema.

“I don’t see him taking that chance. It’s for those who want to dream, but it’s not possible. (…) Deschamps and Benzema could potentially work together again. But does the coach want to start over after being burned? I am 300% sure he won’t bring him back,” he said during an interview with RMC Sport.
