The CEO of the Saudi Pro League, Omar Mugharbel, has expressed support for the possible signing of Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.

Saudi clubs are considering the uncertainty around Salah’s position at Liverpool. He was not included in the squad for the Champions League match against Inter Milan, following a controversial interview last weekend.

Salah has been sitting on the bench for three consecutive Premier League games, which has led him to claim that Liverpool has not supported him. He mentioned having a ‘no relationship’ with manager Arne Slot and criticized how he has been treated this season.

This season diverges significantly from last year when Salah played a key role in Liverpool’s title win, leading the league in goals and assists, and earning the PFA Player of the Year award.

His performance has declined this season, leading to speculation about a potential move in January. Saudi clubs have shown interest in Salah for some time, viewing him as a major addition. In 2023, Liverpool turned down a £150m offer from Al-Ittihad for him.

Mugharbel says Salah is ‘welcome’ in the Saudi Pro League

Mugharbel has commented on the possibility of Salah joining the Saudi League, stating he would be a ‘welcome’ addition as the league continues to grow.
