Kobbie Mainoo’s half-brother, Jordan Mainoo-Hames, was seen at Old Trafford wearing a ‘free Kobbie Mainoo’ shirt during the club’s 4-4 draw with Bournemouth on Monday.

Mainoo has faced challenges in getting first-team action this season and has not started any Premier League matches.

Jordan Mainoo-Hames was at the match displaying the ‘free Kobbie Mainoo’ t-shirt in support of his brother.

The 20-year-old has played a total of only 212 minutes in the league, which has affected his place in the England squad.

Mainoo sought a loan move in the summer to gain more playing time, but the club did not approve the transfer. He is expected to seek a loan again when the January transfer window opens next month.

Ruben Amorim, while not directly addressing the t-shirt message after the match, has frequently discussed Mainoo’s situation. Earlier in the season, he mentioned that there were players who better fit his tactical needs.

“The way I play is completely different from the last manager… Kobbie was the only player who calmed down the game. Now, we have other players… We play differently,” Amorim said.

“I get that people support Kobbie… But that doesn’t mean I have to play him if I think it’s not right. It’s my choice.”

Napoli and other clubs are interested in signing Mainoo, and there may be Premier League teams keen on him if he becomes available.
