Tigres’ Lizbeth Ovalle has won the Marta award at The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025.
The Marta award, named after the Brazilian football legend, recognizes the best goal in women’s football. It was introduced at last year’s awards.
This award is similar to the men’s Puskas award, which honors the most visually impressive goal of the year. Interestingly, Marta herself won the first award in 2024.
Ovalle earned this distinction with a stunning scorpion kick goal for Tigres against Guadalajara in March. With the match tied, she executed an acrobatic strike from an in-swinging cross into the far corner, creating a memorable moment that secured her the Marta award.
This goal truly stands out.
