FC Cincinnati has confirmed the transfer of defender Alvaro Barreal to Brazilian club Santos.
The 25-year-old Argentina international previously played on loan at Santos during the 2025 season, where he met specific performance goals, leading to his purchase.
In 2023, Barreal had a standout season with FC Cincinnati, being named an MLS All-Star while helping his team secure the Supporters’ Shield.

Over his tenure with FC Cincinnati from 2020 to 2023, he recorded 19 goals and 29 assists in 121 matches across all competitions.
In 2024, Barreal was on loan at Cruzeiro in Brazil.
