4. Returning to world number one

After losing the world number one ranking to Djokovic in 2023, Alcaraz did not reclaim the top spot for over two years.

However, his strong performances in 2025 put him in position to compete again, as he entered the US Open final knowing a victory would return him to world number one, taking the title from Sinner.

The match saw both players take a set early on before Alcaraz started to take control.

This victory brought him back to world number one, where he stayed for eight weeks until Sinner briefly took it back.

Alcaraz has since regained the top position and has now spent a total of 50 weeks at number one.

5. Winning his first Olympic medal

The 2024 Olympic Games were particularly emotional for Alcaraz, as he played doubles with Rafael Nadal for the first time.

Though they did not win a medal together, Alcaraz focused on the singles competition.

He defeated Hady Habib, Tallon Griekspoor, Roman Safiullin, and Tommy Paul to reach the semifinals.

If he could beat Lorenzo Musetti in the semifinals, he would secure at least a silver medal.

He accomplished this and won decisively against Musetti, with a score of 6-1, 6-1, on Court Philippe Chatrier.

Unfortunately, Alcaraz fell short in the final, losing in straight sets to Djokovic and missing out on the gold medal.
