Kobbie Mainoo is currently drawing attention from Manchester United supporters.
The midfielder, who developed in United’s youth academy, had a breakthrough during the 2023-24 season, making 32 appearances and scoring five goals.
His strong performances earned him a spot on the England team for last year’s European Championships, where he played in the final.
However, after a successful 2024-25 season with 37 appearances, Mainoo has found himself sidelined at Old Trafford this season.
In response to his situation, Mainoo requested to leave the club towards the end of the summer transfer window, but the club declined his request, forcing him to remain at least for the first half of the season.
During this time, Mainoo faced challenges, including an injury that kept him out of the match against Tottenham Hotspur, as reported by sources.
He did, however, return for the match against Everton, making a brief appearance off the bench.
As the January transfer window approaches, Mainoo has encountered another setback.
According to Simon Peach via X, he is not part of the squad for the game against Aston Villa due to a minor injury sustained in training on Saturday.
This situation raises questions about how it may affect any clubs interested in the midfielder ahead of January.
