Manchester United is planning significant changes to its midfield this January.

After spending over £200 million on attacking players last summer, the club is now looking to update its midfield.

Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been frequently mentioned in transfer rumors as his future at the club remains uncertain.

Casemiro is also being linked with a move to Major League Soccer after three and a half years at United.

Manuel Ugarte is reportedly targeted for a transfer to Turkey.

Furthermore, United has shown interest in several midfielders.

One of them is Kees Smit, a 19-year-old midfielder from AZ Alkmaar.

Smit made his way through the Alkmaar academy last season and has since made 58 appearances for the team, attracting interest from multiple clubs.

In addition to Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Borussia Dortmund, Smit is also on the radar of Newcastle United.

If Smit moves to the Premier League, he has already tried to adapt to life in Britain.

The Sun reported that he dressed as Shaun the Sheep at the World Darts Championship, accompanied by friends dressed as chickens and cows.

They were seen enjoying beers and dancing to the darts anthem at the event.

Despite Alkmaar’s reluctance to sell Smit in January, any player can be sold for the right price, and the club may feel pressured to consider offers.
