Andrea Berta has apparently identified a possible target for Arsenal ahead of the January transfer window.
Mikel Arteta is considering making changes in the new year as Arsenal looks to end its long wait for a Premier League title.
There could be departures, with Ethan Nwaneri likely going out on loan to gain more playing experience.
In terms of new signings, it’s clear that Arsenal needs help in central midfield.
Berta is reportedly interested in a well-regarded midfielder currently playing in South America.

Arsenal initially showed interest in signing Breno Bidon from Corinthians during the summer, and recent reports indicate they’ve contacted them again.
This information comes from journalist Samir Carvalho, who discussed it on his YouTube channel.
“Arsenal is one of the clubs that recently contacted Corinthians,” Carvalho mentioned.
Arsenal is believed to be one of three clubs that have reached out about Bidon, though none have made a formal offer yet.
The 20-year-old midfielder has impressed at Corinthians but there may be mixed feelings about a transfer within the club.
Gabriel Magalhaes’ possible concerns about a Bidon deal
While signing a young talent is generally a good move, personal connections can complicate matters.
Gabriel Magalhaes could face this situation if Arsenal pursues Bidon, who is a fan of Corinthians, the same club that Gabriel supports.
Both Gabriel and Martinelli are known admirers of Corinthians, with Gabriel even hoping to play there one day.
Despite this, Gabriel would likely welcome Bidon’s arrival at Arsenal, referring to him as a ‘genius’ on Instagram.
Though Bidon has backing from the team, it’s still uncertain if Arteta and Berta will push for a deal.
