Carlos Baleba is a player frequently linked with Manchester United.

The Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder joined the team in August 2023 from Lille in France.

Since then, he has performed well, attracting interest from United and other clubs.

A move to United almost took place over the summer, but Brighton confirmed that Baleba was not for sale, leading the club to back out of the deal.

Despite this, United’s interest remains as they aim to improve their midfield.

Currently representing Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations, Baleba is still being connected with a move to Manchester.

With players like Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo, and Casemiro possibly leaving, Baleba is seen as a candidate for a January transfer.

Other players such as Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton, and Conor Gallagher are also rumored to be in United’s sights.

According to Sky Sports Senior Football Editor Lyall Thomas, United has looked into a deal for Baleba for this January transfer window, but Brighton is keen to keep him until summer, making a January transfer unlikely.

The 21-year-old, who will turn 22 tomorrow, is expected to leave Brighton in the summer, following the club’s recent trend of selling players like Alexis Mac Allister, Marc Cucurella, and Moises Caicedo.

While United may still pursue Baleba, they might have to wait until summer to sign him.
