Jamie Donley Joins the U’s

Jamie Donley, an internationally capped player for Northern Ireland, has previous loan experience in the Football League.

Last season, he scored eight goals and recorded ten assists for Leyton Orient, helping them reach the League One playoff final. He moved to Stoke in the summer but has seen limited action, making just six appearances overall, with four in the league as a substitute.

Donley has also played four matches for the Tottenham first team. He will now connect with Spurs teammate Will Lankshear and Northern Ireland players Ciaron Brown and Brodie Spencer as the U’s aim to stay clear of relegation in the Championship.

What Was Said

After completing his move, Donley stated: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me, and I’m determined to make the most of it.

“I want to influence games and be decisive in the final third, but that all starts with hard work. I take pride in working for the team and doing the basics right.

“My loan experiences have taught me a lot. I’ve had highs and challenges, but those experiences shape you as a player. I feel ready to come here, compete, and show what I can bring.

“First and foremost, I’m here to fight for the badge. When I get on the ball, I want to be positive, take responsibility, and create moments that help the team win.”
