Carlos Baleba has been linked with Manchester United for some time.
The midfielder currently plays for Brighton and Hove Albion and has been an important part of the team for nearly three years.
During his time at Brighton, the 22-year-old has made 96 appearances and scored four goals.
He has also provided two assists while playing for the club.
This season, he has taken ten shots, won 60.9% of his aerial duels, and completed 85.5% of his passes successfully.
Reports indicate that Manchester United has shown renewed interest in him.
However, Brighton is keen on retaining Baleba, making it unlikely that he will move this transfer window; a summer transfer appears more plausible.
Brighton’s vice-chairman, Paul Barber, shared more information about Manchester United’s interest in Baleba.
In a conversation with TalkSport, Barber noted: “(We’ve had) no call from anyone connected to Manchester United.”
“We have no plans or desire to sell Carlos in this window, or in any future window, but we know he’s a talented player and he’s got a lot of options ahead of him in the future.”
This statement confirms Brighton’s intention to keep Baleba unless there is a compelling reason to sell.
As the January transfer window nears its end, it remains to be seen if any move will occur.
