Another week of FPL is now behind us. We are now in the latter half of the 2025/26 Premier League season – how is your team looking at this crucial stage?
It was a good week for teams like Arsenal, Brentford, and Wolves, while clubs such as Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, and Everton struggled.
Goalkeepers
Only one goalkeeper scored more than six points this week – Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen, one of three goalkeepers who kept clean sheets. He earned seven points.
Jose Sa and Nick Pope also kept clean sheets, scoring six points each for their performances against West Ham and Crystal Palace, respectively.
FPL managers with David Raya will be unhappy. Despite being the most expensive goalkeeper in the game, he only scored one point in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Bournemouth.
Defenders
Malick Thiaw stood out this week, scoring 17 points along with two other players. Thiaw scored a goal, kept a clean sheet, and earned maximum bonus points.
Hugo Bueno and Nathan Collins scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Virgil van Dijk had a rough game against Fulham and is our top defender loser this week. He struggled throughout the match and was at fault for Fulham’s first goal.
Midfielders
The second player to score 17 points this week was Declan Rice from Arsenal, who netted two goals against Bournemouth. Anyone who risked playing him after an injury scare was rewarded.
John McGinn also scored two goals, helping Aston Villa beat Nottingham Forest at Villa Park, earning him 15 points.
Antoine Semenyo, on the other hand, struggled and is our top midfielder loser. He only managed one point despite facing a tough defense.
Forwards
The top striker this week was Igor Thiago, who scored a hat trick against Everton, racking up a high points total.
Mateus Mane, an 18-year-old, made an impression against West Ham, scoring 12 points. Brian Brobbey from Sunderland also performed well, earning nine points for his goal against Tottenham.
However, Erling Haaland’s struggles continue; he hasn’t scored or assisted in three consecutive games. This raises questions about his performance amid a challenging winter schedule.
