Marcus Rashford has made a strong comeback while on loan at Barcelona this season, after leaving Manchester United during the summer.

His departure followed a loan period at Aston Villa, where his relationship with new manager Ruben Amorim soured.

Rashford was removed from the starting lineup and the squad entirely, prompting him to seek a new opportunity.

This change ultimately benefited him, as his time under Unai Emery led to his return to the England national team.

While playing for Barcelona, Rashford has scored seven goals and provided 11 assists in 25 matches, helping the team maintain their position at the top of La Liga.

However, Barcelona has yet to confirm their option to buy Rashford for £26 million, which might mean he returns to Old Trafford soon.

A report from Spanish outlet AS points out that Rashford has struggled to connect on the field with Alejandro Balde and Raphinha, along with the possibility of a new manager at Manchester United, which could influence his return.

The report elaborates on his role in the team: “Despite impressive stats of 7 goals and 11 assists in 25 appearances, his performance has been inconsistent, especially since Raphinha came back.”

“Manager Hansi Flick has not yet found the right way to utilize both Rashford and Raphinha together on the pitch.”

“When they played together against Osasuna and Espanyol, Raphinha struggled as he had to take on a less dynamic attacking role.”

“Rashford’s presence has also limited Balde’s attacking effectiveness on the left side.”

With Rashford’s contract at Manchester United lasting until 2028, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a likely candidate for the managerial position, a return could be possible given his past praise for Solskjaer.
