Barcelona and Athletic Club are set to face off in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final on Wednesday.

Barcelona might have key players available for the semi-final after injury concerns. Dani Olmo, who returned from a shoulder injury he sustained against Atlético Madrid, scored in his comeback against Espanyol, while Pedri is fit after some minor fitness issues last month. Jules Kounde, who had a slight injury in the Espanyol match, is expected to play after receiving medical clearance.
Ronald Araujo has started training again after taking time off for mental health reasons and is slowly getting back to full fitness. However, coach Hansi Flick mentioned that he’s “not 100% physically” and may have limited playtime. This is particularly important since Andreas Christensen is still out with a partial ACL tear, and a return is expected in April.
Gavi is recovering from meniscus surgery on his right knee in September, aiming to return in February. The club has until January 9 to submit a medical report to La Liga that would allow them to use 80% of Christensen’s wages for a new registration. No Barcelona players are suspended for the semi-final.
