Oliver Glasner has acknowledged that Marc Guehi might leave Crystal Palace this month if a strong offer comes in.

Guehi’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he is likely to depart as a free agent if no transfer occurs this month. The England international has rejected a new contract at Selhurst Park and is attracting interest from various clubs throughout Europe.

Liverpool previously agreed to a £35m deal for Guehi in the summer, but the transfer fell through on deadline day when Crystal Palace couldn’t find a replacement.

The Reds are still interested in the 25-year-old, and Manchester City is also looking to secure a deal for the centre-back this month due to their defensive injuries.

Before Crystal Palace’s match against Aston Villa tonight, Glasner stated he is aware of the situation. The Austrian coach noted that the club would consider selling the captain if the financial terms are right.

“The contract expires in the summer. If someone makes an offer, there will come a point when the club decides that the financial aspect is more important than the sporting one. We must make the best decision. That’s why I often say: ‘I don’t know,’ because it can change,” he explained.

“There will be a point where the club has to make a decision if the player says: ‘I want to leave’ and the offer exceeds our expectations. If a substantial offer comes from City and Marc is willing to take it, it could happen.”
