Inter Miami is set to keep playoff star Tadeo Allende with a permanent transfer from the Spanish team Celta Vigo, according to a report from The Athletic on Wednesday.

Allende scored in stoppage time during the MLS Cup in December, helping Miami to a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps. This goal marked his ninth in the MLS postseason and secured the club’s first league title.

The new contract for Allende is expected to be finalized this week, with Miami managing to negotiate with Celta Vigo, despite interest from River Plate, a prominent club in Argentina.

At 26 years old, Allende scored 11 goals in 31 regular-season matches (26 starts) in 2025 for Miami, where he joined on loan last January.

Allende will not be Miami’s third designated player. Argentine players Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul currently hold those spots, allowing their high salaries to have less effect on the salary cap.

Allende participated in 11 La Liga matches for Celta Vigo during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons and previously played for Godoy Cruz in Argentina’s Primera Division for two seasons.
