Jamie Redknapp thinks Liverpool might still interfere in Antoine Semenyo’s near transfer to Manchester City.
Antoine Semenyo’s transfer to Manchester City isn’t as certain as it once appeared. The Bournemouth striker was expected to move for £65 million to the Etihad.
However, Jamie Redknapp suggested on Sky Sports that Liverpool could make a late bid for Semenyo, despite reports indicating that he was almost set to join City.

Jamie Redknapp indicates Liverpool still in the hunt
Reports suggest that Antoine Semenyo is set for a medical after utilizing a release clause in his Bournemouth contract.
The forward has scored 10 goals in 20 matches this season and finished his time at Bournemouth with a last-minute winner against Tottenham in a 3–2 match. Redknapp believes the transfer isn’t finalized yet.
“People assume it’s a done deal… but I’m not so sure. I’ve heard Liverpool is interested. Considering Mohamed Salah’s situation, the future is unclear,” said Redknapp.
“Semenyo has proven to be a game-changer, fitting that need.”
Redknapp clarified that he did not have breaking news but hinted at possible developments before the deal is announced.
Antoine Semenyo’s transfer could unfold further
Most reports indicate that Antoine Semenyo will be joining Manchester City, with a deal possibly wrapped up this week.
Yet, if Redknapp is accurate, Liverpool might step in at the last moment and attract the forward to their team.
This move would be a significant gain for Liverpool, as it would strengthen their squad while also affecting their rivals.
It remains uncertain if Semenyo will end up at Manchester City or Liverpool, but Redknapp’s comments suggest that the situation could evolve further.
