Philadelphia Union midfielder Alejandro Bedoya has signed a one-year contract that will keep him with the team through 2026.

The financial details of the agreement were not revealed. Alongside his playing duties, Bedoya is also involved in player development and front office activities for the Union.

“Alejandro’s influence on our organization is crucial, both on and off the field,” said Philadelphia head coach Bradley Carnell. “He plays an important role as a player, and his leadership is particularly valuable in player development and front office tasks. His experience and strong grasp of our system make him a reliable presence and mentor for younger players, while his behind-the-scenes efforts help strengthen our culture. We are pleased to have Alejandro returning as we prepare for the new season.”

Bedoya, who is 38 years old, scored one goal and provided three assists in 24 matches (nine starts) during the last season.

Over his career with the Union, he has accumulated 25 goals and 33 assists in 268 matches (226 starts), making him the club’s all-time leader in MLS appearances.
