Andoni Iraola is being considered as a potential manager for Manchester United after the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Declan Rice, who has worked with Tuchel during their time with England, recently played against Bournemouth, managed by Iraola.
Arsenal secured a 3-2 victory at the Vitality Stadium last Saturday. After the match, Rice spoke to Sky Sports about Iraola’s tactics.
“We went one-nil down to Bournemouth, who played really well in the first half,” he said.
“It was tough; the manager is excellent in how they press and work. Winning after a subpar first half, but a much better second half, was significant for the team.”
Andoni Iraola could be a strong candidate for Manchester United
England appointed Tuchel as head coach in 2024, with an 18-month contract that lasts through the 2026 World Cup.
Manchester United might need to wait until after the 2026 World Cup to begin talks with Tuchel.
His contract expires after the tournament, and it is unclear if the FA will offer him an extension.
If United wait too long during the World Cup to approach Tuchel, they risk losing him if he decides to extend his England contract.
Iraola has ample Premier League experience and may be a more viable option for United by the end of the season.
