Andy Brassell has advised Premier League clubs to reconsider quickly signing RB Leipzig player Yan Diomande.

The football expert suggests that Liverpool and Tottenham should be cautious before making a large investment.

The midfielder, valued at £87 million, has caught the attention of scouts throughout Europe due to his skill and athleticism.

Brassell emphasized that waiting might be the better option. He pointed out that Diomande is developing more effectively in his current setting than he would in a new club. This is the core of his advice to Premier League teams.

Rushing into a deal could hinder Yan Diomande’s growth

In a talkSPORT interview, Brassell remarked: “We’ve seen even players with more experience, like Florian Wirtz, take time adapting to the Premier League.”

“So, even if it costs Premier League clubs a bit more to let him stay where he is right now, waiting for him to continue developing before buying is likely worth avoiding initial struggles,” he added.

Brassell’s view aligns with what many experts have said lately: the shift from the Bundesliga to the Premier League needs careful planning, not just financial might.

RB Leipzig is ideal for player development

Brassell continued, “No club is better at developing young talent than RB Leipzig. They do this repeatedly.”

“So, whether you’re Spurs, Liverpool, or another team, acquiring him in 18 months after more development will bring better results than signing him now,” he stated.

“He will be much more prepared for the Premier League, and I’m certain he will excel, as he is a tremendous talent,” he concluded.

Leipzig’s track record backs this perspective. Players like Christopher Nkunku and Josko Gvardiol have made a name for themselves through the club’s focused effort on youth development.

Diomande appears ready to be the next success story. For Liverpool and Tottenham, the urge to act quickly will always be there.

However, if Brassell’s views hold true, a little patience may be what separates acquiring potential from obtaining a refined player.
